Specimen Mounting Presses
Consistent Hot Compression Mounting for Metallography
Hot compression mounting holds small or irregular specimens in a consistent form for grinding and polishing. CMP-P handles routine mounts; CMP-EH adds higher pressure, larger moulds and multiple-mount capacity.
Used in: Metallography Labs • QC Labs • Foundries • Steel Plants • Research Laboratories

Models & Variants
Choose pneumatic mounting for compact routine labs or electro-hydraulic mounting for larger moulds, higher consolidation pressure and production metallography.
Which Mounting Press Should You Choose?
Select by mould diameter, required pressure and mounts per cycle. Move to CMP-EH when the CMP-P mould range or pneumatic pressure is insufficient.
Scroll horizontally to compare all models.
| Requirement | CMP-EH | CMP-P |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure System | Electro-hydraulic | Pneumatic |
| Pressure Capacity | Up to 5 Ton | Settable pneumatic pressure |
| Mould Sizes | 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 2", 3" | 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2" |
| Multiple Mounts | Possible in one cycle | Single mount operation |
| Best Use | High-consolidation and larger mounts | Routine laboratory mounting |
| Typical Applications | Steel plants, foundries, automotive labs, aerospace labs, R&D, production metallography | QC labs, educational institutes, routine metallography, compact labs |

Accessories
Select moulding accessories by mount diameter and replace cycle components when wear affects operation.
Note: 2" and 3" moulds require special heating element and cooling arrangement.
Applications
Select the mounting press for your specimen load.
Share the specimen size, mould diameter, required pressure and mounts per cycle. We will recommend CMP-P or CMP-EH from those operating requirements.
