Why Choose This System

One coordinated test setup

The furnace, quenching fixture, recirculating water system and setup accessories work together as a practical Jominy testing station.

Controlled test conditions

PID temperature control, repeatable specimen positioning and adjustable water flow help laboratories reproduce the prescribed heating and quenching sequence.

Built around recognized methods

The system can be configured for hardenability testing to ASTM A255, ISO 642, SAE J406, IS 3848 and JIS G0561, subject to the applicable test requirement.

Key Technical Features

Furnace System

A dedicated furnace heats the Jominy specimen before quenching. Maximum temperature is 1200 °C, continuous operating temperature is 1050 °C, and the chamber is approximately 150 × 150 × 300 mm.

Temperature Control

PID control, thyristor-based heater regulation and a Chromel/Alumel thermocouple maintain the heating cycle, with control accuracy around ±3 °C under suitable operating conditions.

Jominy Fixture

The standard Jominy fixture is MS powder coated and incorporates the water nozzle and specimen location needed for repeatable end-quench positioning. Stainless-steel construction is available as an option.

Water Circulation System

A built-in reservoir, 0.25 HP recirculation pump and flow adjustment allow the water stream to be set before each test.

System Design

The compact assembly keeps heating, specimen transfer and quenching within one laboratory workstation while allowing practical access for setup and maintenance.

Standard Accessories

Jominy Fixture and Moulds

The standard MS powder-coated fixture is supplied with stainless-steel Jominy moulds for specimen preparation, positioning and handling.

Water Stream Setup Tools

A dummy specimen and alignment insert make it easier to set the water jet height and position before a heated specimen is transferred.

Special Tongs

Purpose-made tongs support controlled transfer of the heated specimen from the furnace to the quenching fixture.

Standard Test Accessories

The supplied setup items cover the routine alignment and handling steps required before testing.
