Particle Size Analysis

After Gravimetry (weight analysis) sample can be analyzed for particle size, nature (metallic/non-metallic/fibre) and their size classification. Depending upon minimum particle size and automation level required, there are different models.

C. DeXel-FilTrate Imaging software


Quick Overview:

  • Specially designed Imaging software for analysis of particulate contamination
  • Analysis as per various international standards like ISO 4407, ISO 16232, ASTM F 312 etc and as per any other OE standard
  • Seamless stitching of all the captured micro images to generate a single image of entire filter paper. This will join fibers and large particles broken in different frames (due to constraint of frame size) so as to analyze and deliver the results for their true sizes
  • Separation of particles as Metallic, Non-metallic, fiber and Distribution of them as per their sizes
  • Mean, Median, Standard Deviation etc statistical parameters

Particle Mass Analysis by Gravimetry method

Weight of Filter Paper: (By digital Balance with min 0.1mg readability). In this method filter paper is weighed twice, before and after collection of contamination on precision balance with min. 0.1 mg readability. Difference between two weights is termed as Gravimetry value or Millipore value of contamination

Cleaning of the components and Extraction of contamination - Kit from Merck Millipore

This system consist of complete extraction and filtration assemblies. Component is washed with specific liquid and this liquid is then collected in suitable container. Liquid containing contamination obtained is now filtrated though suitable filtration systems and particles are collected on filter paper
